Do you provide one-to-one support in maths?

The National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics (NCETM) has launched an enquiry into the current practice of one-to-one tuition in mathematics through Key Stages 2 to 4. The purpose of this enquiry is to improve the level of support offered to tutors in terms of induction, CPD and resources. As a teaching assistant, if you have experience in one-to-one maths support, you can play a vital part in the enquiry. NCETM would be very grateful if you could spare a little of your time to complete a questionnaire, which will give you the opportunity to tell them about your frustrations and successes. Perhaps some of you have cases that NCETM can study in depth, or maybe you are new to this type of work and can tell NCETM what you perceive your needs to be. Whatever your background and experience, your contribution will be really valuable.

If you or your colleagues would like to take part, please email David Morgan at david@educationwest.co.uk, who will send you the questionnaire. NCETM hopes to receive the first completed batch of questionnaires by December, so that they can be processed for inclusion in the enquiry’s Interim Report.
