Select Committee Report

The Education and Skills Committee produced a positive report highlighting the improvements that have already been made under Every Child Matters, and the potential for more to be achieved.

There is particular concern that, while the DCSF is committed to the Every Child Matters agenda, there is less enthusiasm within many organisations and agencies, including many schools and local authorities, where the commitment shown by the senior management is often not shared by staff.

If Every Child Matters is to help all staff improve the service that they provide for children, every member of staff must share its aims.
