Support Staff Survey
The Support Staff Survey offers an overview of the roles that support staff perform in the school and an indication of their current skills. It identifies areas of competence which do not currently form part of the roles of support staff, but which they may be able to take on.
It consists of a short but comprehensive online survey that can be completed in about 25 minutes. The data is then analysed in order to produce printed reports for the individual and the school.
The institutional report is of considerable value when planning roles and responsibilities, and when considering professional development needs and priorities. It is also invaluable for reporting to governors, local authorities and for self-evaluation for Ofsted.
This information is presented in terms of the occupational standards contained in the vocationally-related qualification (VRQ) Award and Certificate in Support Work in Schools, and the 22 tasks identified in the National Workload Agreement.
